Telegram was blocked in Chechnya and Dagestan for information security. This was declared by Dagestan Yuri Gamzatov's Digital Development Minister, RBC.
According to him, the decision to block the republics was made at the federal level after the riots at Makhachkala airport on October 29, 2023. After that, perhaps the service was used by participants in riots.
Gamzatov noted that in the future, the messenger may unlock if the threats disappear.
