South Korean Samsung SDI is considering the possibility of building another factory to produce battery in the United States. Despite reducing the demand for electric vehicles this year, the company is adjusted for long -term market growth.

CEO Samsung SDI Choi Ju Song said that the company is so far approaching the decision to build a new factory in North America. Currently, Samsung SDI has built factories along with General Motors and Stellatis in Indiana, and one of the subjects cooperating with Stellantis has been authorized.
According to Choy, despite the weakness of the demand for electric vehicles, global initiatives to reduce emissions continue to maintain market prospects. Korean batteries, including LG Energy Solution and SK On, have invested more than $ 54 billion in creating factories in the United States, attracting tax benefits proposed by the previous government.
Production expansion in the United States can also help Samsung SDI adapt to changing economic policies. Donald Trump previously criticized Korea for establishing a higher tax rate for US goods than China.
