Indonesia has issued Apple's certificate to comply with local production requirements for 20 products, including iPhone 16. This has been announced by the representative of the Ministry of Industry. However, though, the company has not been able to sell its devices throughout the country – because this you need more licenses.

The certificate was issued after Apple announced an investment in Indonesia with the amount of more than $ 300 million last month. Funds will be aimed at building component factories and creating a research and development center.
In 2023, the Indonesian government banned the sale of iPhone 16 due to the inconsistency for the requirements for the use of local -produced components. Apple has now received the permission to release 11 phones and 9 tablets, as it can meet these conditions.
However, to start selling, companies need to receive a license from the Ministry of Communications and Digital Technology, as well as from the Ministry of Trade. So far, both Apple and representatives of the Indonesian departments have not commented on this situation.
